The Azores Golf Islands is an umbrella brand built by the owners in order to promote the Azores as a Golf Destination which includes two golf courses In São Miguel and another one in Terceira Island.
The Azores Government wants to further develop this golf destination and make it one of the main attractions on these magical islands.
Our company plans to start building Faial Golf Course in 2011; a special 18 hole golf course designed by the Canadian architects: Hurdzan & Fry. The course will have amazing 360º views around Horta, Pico Island and the Atlantic Ocean. At the same time the Government also plans to build a golf course on Santa Maria Island, designed by Nick Faldo.
The company has also just bought another fantastic piece of land on Pico Island, where another 18 hole golf course is planned. It will have a totally different look, considering its location which is in the centre of an old lava flow. So the contrast between the black of the lava and the green of the course and surrounding grape vines will be stunning.
